Devotional: After Jesus says these words the Gospel states, “He breathed his last.” Jesus died. What it amazing is that a Roman soldier standing nearby who watched Jesus die like many, many other Jews died was taken by how Jesus died. Scripture says this man began to praise God (v. 47a). Wow!
When you die will your life have led others to praise God? Will they have seen in you someone who turned their attention to Heaven?
Prayer: My Father, let me live a life that is not for me but for you. Let my life point people to Heaven. Let them see your love in me. Let them hear your Gospel from my lips. Let them notice your Kingdom advancing in my life. Let them praise you when I close my eyes for the last time because in me they saw you.
Action Step: Go live life unto God. Let your life draw people to praise him.
